Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Incumbent typically works in a variety of settings and locations. Work requires the ability to bend, crawl, climb, stoop and be available at sites to provide client support in the installation, repair and maintenance of hardware and software. Incumbent must be able to lift or move personal computers, terminals and peripheral equipment which may weigh up to fifty pounds. Frequently works early and late hours to meet timelines, provide off-hour upgrade and maintenance, and respond to emergency situations.
Within the Electronics Services Division of Technology Services, duties require frequent to continuous standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing,
overhead reaching, grasping, fine motor control, accurate color perception, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds and carry 30 pounds. Duties also involve exposure to electrical hazards,
confined spaces, loud noises, vibration, slippery and/or uneven surfaces, working at heights, exhaust fumes and dust, chemicals, and adverse weather conditions including extreme
temperatures.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is included in the County’s alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. Must be able to perform after-hours emergency response on a call-out basis. This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience with telecommunication systems and network equipment that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
- Experience installing, maintaining, and testing analog and digital circuits and devices
- Knowledge of Network System architecture, configuration and design, telecommunications systems records, data room design, specific and general telecommunication systems terminology and technology
- Knowledge of project management techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform after-hours emergency response on a call-out basis
- Must possess Siemens / Unify voice server certifications
- Experience installing, maintaining, programming, and testing telecommunication systems, servers, and devices
- Experience with VoIP technologies
- Experience procuring and provisioning cellular devices
- Familiarity with telecom billing and cost optimization, including auditing invoices and managing telecom service contracts
- Understanding of security best practices for telecom networks, including encryption, access controls, and fraud prevention
- Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check
- Must pass a post-offer physical assessment; accommodation requests will be reviewed on an individual bases in compliance with State and Federal legislation.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Participates in long-range planning and design of Telecom configurations and systems; confers with departments to analyze current and projected requirements; researches new systems and technologies.
- Participates in occasional Telecom project management and coordination; occasionally, may coordinate meetings, schedules, objectives, and materials. Problem-solving and building consensus with management, users, and vendors.
- Participates in the design and implementation of Telecom standards; prepares detailed documents, drawings, network charts, and specifications, including technical details of hardware and software; participates in the development and documentation of operational procedures; participates in the design of new methods and procedures for accomplishing work; occasionally may prepare services estimates; participates in the design and coordination of hardware and software requests with vendors. Interacts with selected vendors.
- Occasionally, specialized training may be provided to technicians and analysts, who may participate in coordinating telecommunications network maintenance, testing, and daily operations.
- Performs routine physical installation, maintenance, programming, moves, adds, changes, and repair of Voice server equipment, security servers, storage systems, and interface applications; specialized and proprietary applications, software, and all other related equipment.
- Performs routine audits, analysis, design, and programming of voice equipment, Cellular devices, cellular plans, building security networks, peripheral servers, specialized and proprietary applications, software, and related equipment.
- Performs routine audits, installation, maintenance, and repair of video conferencing servers, CSU/DSU's, hubs, switches, telecommunications network equipment, telecommunication system-related microcomputers, and multiplexers.
- Performs routine server and network security; secures backup and data recovery as required; monitors and analyzes equipment performance to identify and correct problems or potential problems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs telecommunication system equipment and network using test equipment, tools, schematics, circuit diagrams, and manufacturers' specifications.
- Participates in the evaluation and specification of telecom equipment and purchases; participates in the recommendation of award of bids and supports the overall purchasing process of telecommunication systems, including occasional contract creation.
- Performs audits of Telecommunication circuits, fiber, systems, and invoices. Creates detailed reports and charts.
