Learn more: https://www.clackesd.org/ About the program: Our Life Enrichment Education Program (LEEP) provides a comprehensive education for students grades kindergarten through transition with complex disabilities and communication needs. Through Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), LEEP supports students in accessing academic, social-emotional, communication and life skills curriculum and instruction. Multidisciplinary classroom teams include special education teachers, educational assistants, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavior specialists, nurses, adaptive physical education teachers and others as needed. The program focuses on academics, communication, personal management, decision making, independence, self-advocacy, practical living skills, vocational skills, leisure/recreation activities, social skills and access to a full life. About this position: The Administrative Assistant I provides secretarial and clerical support to the assigned program, including the maintenance and organization of physical and digital information, records, reports and/or supplies. The position assists in arranging, scheduling and documenting services and regularly communicates with school district and community contacts, requiring use of discretion, tact, diplomacy and judgment. *The Administrative Assistant I position at Heron Creek or Clackamas Early Learning Center are school-based positions not located in the central office. Essential functions: Communication: -Represents CESD in a professional manner in all communications -Determines and communicates the priority of phone calls, visitors, reports and correspondence with sensitivity and confidentiality -Maintains confidentiality regarding all department matters -Composes written correspondence for CESD as requested by the supervisor, including spreadsheets, forms and fliers -Responds to inquiries and referrals from CESD school district personnel, partners and parents via phone, email or in person Data and Information: -Follows all FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and requirements -Updates student and district records using the appropriate student information system -Assists in maintaining an internal communication system ensuring administrative, instructional and support personnel are kept current with reliable information, appropriate timelines and necessary resources to meet state and federal reporting requirements Organization: -Follows all FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and requirements -Updates student and district records using the appropriate student information system -Assists in maintaining an internal communication system ensuring administrative, instructional and support personnel are kept current with reliable information, appropriate timelines and necessary resources to meet state and federal reporting requirements Minimum qualifications: Baseline Education/Experience: -High school diploma, GED or equivalent preparation -Recent experience with general office practices and procedures Physical/Technical Skills: -Experience using word processing, database and spreadsheet applications -Ability to apply program criteria and manage logistics to successfully complete assigned tasks -Ability to work independently and use initiative and judgment in accomplishing tasks with general instruction and guidance -Ability to manage time and other resources to handle multiple tasks simultaneously -Ability to coordinate assignments and work independently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Customer Service Skills: -Ability to use written and oral communication skills to explain policies, procedures and projects -Ability to interact with employees, clients and the public using discretion, tact, diplomacy and judgment to represent CESD in a professional manner Preferred qualifications: Bilingual. Bilingual candidates must pass a language proficiency assessment at an intermediate high to advanced level per CESD guidelines to be eligible for bilingual salary placement Salary: Range 13-14* of the classified salary schedule. New hires are eligible to start at up to Step 4 depending on experience, per the Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement. $20.92 - $22.71 per hour, or $21.90 - $23.92 per hour for bilingual candidates. There are two components to PERS, including the pension, which is primarily funded by CESD and The Individual Account Program, or IAP, which is funded by a six-percent deduction from your paycheck.
