Seasonal Worker - Water Distribution – STARTS Monday, June 16, 2025
This position is responsible for assisting our field crew in the repair and maintenance of the District’s water distribution system by performing the following duties:
- Assist with maintenance of water mains, service lines, water meters and boxes, fire hydrants, blow-offs, air relief and valves
- Independently perform additional support tasks such as backfilling small excavations, landscape restoration and debris removal, construction site cleanup, stock part and materials, maintain trucks and equipment
- Grounds maintenance including general facility cleaning, pressure washing and painting
- Use computer technology to collect and enter field data for documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Seasonal Worker - Water Treatment – STARTS Monday, May 5th, 2025
The Seasonal Water Treatment position will assist our Water Resources team to learn and perform a variety of functions that pertain to the operation of our 30 MGD water treatment plant including:
- Monitoring operating conditions using SCADA systems,
- Collecting and testing water samples,
- Recording operational data for regulatory reporting
- Tasks to inspect, clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds and other plant areas
- Plant, pump station ground maintenance including general facility cleaning, pressure washing and painting
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Valid Oregon driver license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to perform daily, repetitive and very demanding physical tasks, lift up to 50 lbs. and also in adverse weather conditions
- Manual dexterity and strength to use a variety of hand tools and equipment
- Preference for applicants enrolled in a water treatment or water distribution degree program
- Ability to recognize and respond to various hazards while working near the roadway
- Ability to drive large pickups with occasional limited visibility and towing
Special Requirements for Distribution Worker
- Preference for experience in underground utility construction or heavy equipment operation, flagger card and competent person training.
Pay Rate: $23.00 to 26.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
