JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping and Receiving Assistant assumes primary responsibility for preparing, tracking, logging, and distributing all incoming/outgoing Federal Express, UPS, and local delivery shipments (domestic and international).

· Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment.
· Computer skills in work processing and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Office applications).
· Excellent interpersonal and friendly customer service skills.
· Demonstrated maturity and judgement.
· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
· Forklift certified a plus
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Highschool diploma or equivalent.
· 2 or more years' experience in shipping and receiving or related warehouse experience.
· Familiarity with Federal Express and UPS shipping processes.
· Working knowledge of ERP systems.
· Ability to compute amounts such as space used, shipping charges, and unit of measure conversions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Prepare items for shipment: Pack, seal and label as required.
· Determine method of shipping utilizing knowledge of shipping products, routes, and rates.
· Prepare shipping documents; Pack, seal and label as required
· Determine method of shipping utilizing knowledge of shipping products, routes, and rates.
· Palletize items/goods for transportation
· Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or issue instructions for shipping and delivery of packages.
· Verify and enter records of outgoing shipments in the company ERP system.
· Receive incoming shipments using the company ERP system; verify accuracy of items received.
· Deliver or route materials to all departments using hand truck, delivery cart or forklift.
· Communicate damages, shortages, or nonconformance to appropriate company personnel.
· Collaborate with multiple internal departments to ensure inbound/outbound packages are delivered and received in a timely manner.
· Maintain required documentation for all incoming/outgoing Federal Express, UPS, and local delivery shipments.
· Participate in loading and unloading trucks when necessary.
· Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
· Assist with warehouse transfer items - Packing/unpacking/labeling
· Assist with Logistics when needed
· Keep dock area maintained
· Barcode new stock or gear.
