About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert-level technical insight across multiple departments, focusing on improving production efficiency, training processes, and customer experience. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate with various teams will be essential in driving continuous improvement and maintaining our high standards of quality.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical expertise to support the off shifts and weekends in areas such as Crown & Bridge finishing, Quality Control, 3D Printing, Milling, and more.
- Lead the validation of new product launches and ensure successful implementation across departments.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and solve technical problems, improving workflow efficiency and product quality.
- Assist in developing and refining internal SOPs, ensuring they are both effective and followed rigorously.
- Incorporate feedback from both internal teams and external customers to improve training and coaching programs. Deliver or coordinate training where gaps exist.
- Troubleshoot complex cases requiring deep technical input and recommend practical solutions.
- Coach and mentor manufacturing associates, providing performance feedback and facilitating in-the-moment training and coaching sessions.
- Work closely with support personnel and equipment teams to identify and correct issues, ensuring smooth operation of all technical processes.
- Suggest, support, and implement cost-saving and continuous improvement measures across various departments.
- Lead by example in maintaining and enforcing strict quality control standards, ensuring each product meets customer expectations and company benchmarks.
- Perform technician duties and support production via technical work.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within a dental laboratory environment.
- Proven track record working with digital dental technologies and labs.
- Strong understanding of customer service in dental labs and the ability to connect empathetically with clients, especially dentists.
- Expertise in digital tools and technology, including software for 3D printing, milling, and crown positioning.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently tackle challenges with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple shifts, coordinating with teams working at different times of the day.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to coach, mentor, and lead others.
- High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
Bonus Points For
- Experience building and scaling manufacturing or quality control processes.
- Previous management experience in a dental lab, particularly with Crown & Bridge, Milling, or Quality Control.
- CDT certification or willingness to obtain one.
- A passion for continuous improvement, problem-solving, and driving operational excellence.

Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour
