What are the responsibilities and job description for the Curriculum Coordinator position at Clara Martin Center?
We are seeking a Curriculum Coordinator to join us at East Valley Academy, a small, independent, therapeutic day treatment school. East Valley Academy (EVA) consists of roughly 18 employees and 22-24 students depending on enrollment. We combine curriculum-based instruction with adventure based learning to maximize student engagement. Some of the Essential Functions:
-Acts as the academic leader of East Valley Academy through collaborative oversite of curriculum, supervision and mentorship of teaching staff.
-Designing and providing professional development to teaching and support staff as needed.
-Strong communication, flexibility and approachability is essential for this position.
-To provide instruction and assurance that staff are familiar with and adhere to school policies in all areas of school operation.
-To participate in EVA Leadership meetings and act as a role model to promote EVA mission, vision, and philosophy.
-Development and implementation of EVA’s Proficiency based learning curriculum,
-Supporting teaching staff in developing curriculum and lesson plans that meet the expectations of proficiency-based learning,
-Providing supervision and consultation to academic staff and assisting in admission process and always seeking ways to improve.
Qualifications: Master’s degree and license/certification (preferred) in Education or related field. Five years of experience in education, alternative learning environments, curriculum development; supervision experience required. Working knowledge of the fundamental types of emotional, behavioral, mental health, or substance abuse issues related to the population to be served. Working knowledge of a variety of service modalities to meet the needs of the population served.
