What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate or Fully Licensed Clinician LCSW, LPC or LMFT (Outpatient) position at Claratel Behavioral Health?
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, assess, screens, and counsels clients in an intensive outpatient mental health and/or substance abuse program to enhance, meet, or restore a client’s functioning capacity. Works with a multi-disciplinary team that provides individual and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation to adult mental health and substance abuse clients. Provides case management and develops client-driven treatment plans. Provides counseling/therapy to clients requiring complex intervention, including those who are homicidal, suicidal, or exhibit life-threatening behaviors, determines necessity for involuntary commitment and may partake in executing orders of involuntary commitment. Complete assessments, manage a case load, complete treatment plans, and obtain authorization for services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assessments
Performs thorough bio psychosocial assessment of the less complex to more complex clients and documents the assessment within agency guidelines
Utilizes information from multiple sources as appropriate in the formulation of client driven treatment planning
Assess and documents responses to interventions and modifies intervention as needed
May utilize specific assessment tools regularly in evaluation of the client
Demonstrates strong clinical judgement in assessments, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions
Seeks clinical supervision as necessary
Creates therapeutic relationship
Advanced Therapeutic Counseling
Creates therapeutic relationship as appropriate with consumers and families/significant others
Conducts individual, family, group counseling/therapy, and educational sessions using evidence-based intervention
Demonstrates clinical knowledge in mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorder treatment
Demonstrates documented clinical proficiency (through education, training, or experience) in client engagement, interviewing, and recording
May utilize advanced certification in specialty in counseling the consumer and others
Counsels Individuals, Groups, and Significant Others
Creates therapeutic relationship as appropriate with consumers and families/significant others
Conducts individual, family, group counseling/therapy, and educational sessions using evidence based interventions
Demonstrates clinical knowledge in mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorder treatment
Demonstrates documented clinical proficiency (through education, training or experience) in client engagement, interviewing and recording
Develops and Participates in Complex Case Management/Care Planning
Creates, communicates, and coordinates treatment plan of the more complex consumer
Demonstrates expertise in care/planning through objectives, goals, and specificity of plan
Serves as resources to staff in demonstration of up-to-date knowledge of DCSB, community, regional, and state resources
Assist treatment team in problem solving regarding needed resources for complex consumers
Insures timely communication with providers through proper exchange of written and verbal communication per policy and procedure
Document referrals, discharges, and resources or other issues for problem resolution and/or utilization as required in agency policy
May serve as a liaison in community resource activities
Professional
Maintain licensure/certification
Actively participates in clinical supervision
Actively engages in behavioral health educational initiatives
Seeks continuing education to meet current clinical needs
Minimum Training, Competency & Experience:
Current licensure as a LCSW, LPC, or LMFT by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists is required
Demonstrates competency in using evidenced based treatments for mental illness and addiction
The employee must be computer efficient and can multi-task
The employees must demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a residential or outpatient setting with mental health or substance abuse programs
Experience working with adults, children, adolescents and veterans
Experience conducting groups counseling/therapy services

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by ADA requirements for applicants and employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job requires lifting and carrying up to 5lbs
