Accounts Payable Specialist
The Accounts Payable Specialist position is part of the Finance department. This position will be involved in all aspects of corporate accounting and reports to the Controller.
Shift Details:
This is an hourly position with a schedule of Monday through Friday; 8 am – 5 pm.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Process high volume Accounts Payable invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation
· Review applicable invoices for 3-way match to Purchase Orders.
· Research, investigate and resolve all pricing, unit, and freight discrepancies in coordination with Warehouse and Pricing Departments
· Ensure all AP documentation is attached to invoices and electronically maintained in accordance with company record retention policies.
· Contact vendors to obtain necessary documentation needed to process invoices and payments, such as W-9’s and payment/bank details
· Calculate and add sales tax to applicable invoices
· Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper coding of invoices and resolve issues
· Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals
· Monitor and analyze accounts payable aging reports and provide commentary for outstanding/aged items
· Assist with governmental/compliance reporting (1099’s,etc.)
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
· Assist the CFO and Controller with special projects
Development
· Continuous education regarding company procedures and job knowledge. This position requires a working knowledge of all departments in the company.
Requirements
· General understanding of accounting concepts
· Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience with high-volume Purchase Order matching. 3-way Accounts Payable matching is required.
· General understanding of accounting concepts
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to re-prioritize as necessary
· Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Proficient computer and Excel skills
· Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred
· Consumer Products company experience preferred
· Associates Degree preferred

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
