ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Are you ready to be a part of a team that values empathy, persistence, and excellence? As the Dispensary Coordinator you'll be the linchpin in addressing pharmacy-related inquiries from our members and providers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring effective medication management, orchestrating improvements in the generic dispensing rate (GDR) by facilitating brand-to-generic conversions in alignment with health plan formularies. You'll serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for medication-related inquiries within our medical center

- Build meaningful relationships with patients and caregivers based on compassion, empathy, and trust.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens and resolve drug therapy-related issues.
- Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Efficiently process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and refill requests.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to secure prior authorizations and resolve coverage matters.
- Facilitate the transition of high-cost medications to preferred alternatives in line with health plan formulary coverage.
- Assist in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) ordering and patient education.
- Handle refill requests, medication reconciliation, and prescription transfers.
- Provide support during PBM audits and address patient grievances empathetically.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and solution-oriented workplace culture.
- Generate timely reports for review by the Dispensary Supervisor.
- Utilize quality and HEDIS reports to enhance adherence rates.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician license in Florida.
- A minimum of two years' experience as a pharmacy technician, physician dispensary, or pharmacy care coordinator.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with electronic health record software (NextGen is preferred).
- Knowledge of pharmacy adjudication platforms.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Creole and English (preferred).
- Patient relations experience, especially with an elderly population.
- Exceptional listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail in prescription processing and record-keeping.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and prioritization abilities.
