Essential Functions:
· Ensure we deliver adequate water flow and pressure to Member Systems. Also, ensure water quality is within EPA and MoDNR Standards.
· Plan and execute preventative maintenance and repair work for the distribution system including underground piping, booster pumping stations, water storage tanks, valves, flushing devices, air release valves, SCADA telemetry, etc.
· Take after hours standby duty. Responds to all emergency after hours calls during standby duty. These calls include water leaks, SCADA issues, power outages, emergency locates, etc. We are a small organization, and it requires all hands-on deck during water leaks and other emergencies. These may occur after hours and on weekends.
· Read meters manually and electronically. Take samples and perform water quality testing using approved methods (examples include; chlorine residual, bacteriological sampling, etc.).
· Assist in other areas during manpower shortages, special projects, or emergencies, such as relief WTP Operator and Maintenance assistance.
· General grounds upkeep at WTP, pump station, water tanks, point of connection sites, and any CCWWC owned and maintained property. This includes mowing, brush hogging, weed eating, spraying, tree removal, trash pickup, etc.
· General maintenance of distribution equipment including, but not limited to, trucks, trailers, tractors, mowers, pumps, valve operating machine, all-terrain vehicle, etc.
· Sludge processing and lagoon maintenance including operations of pumps and other land application equipment used for the sludge land application program.
· Maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of various pieces of communication equipment that includes, radios, antennas, etc.
· Ability to read, write, and operate a computer including Microsoft products (word, excel, outlook). Proficient with cell phone and PC/tablet.
· Ability to see, hear, talk, walk, stand, squat, lift, climb ladders (both up and down), and work outdoors during inclement weather and for long periods during emergencies. Ability to climb water towers using appropriate safety equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
· Ability to work safely and unsupervised.
· Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers on important system items. The WTP and Distribution System go hand in hand. They both rely on each other, and communication between plant personnel and distribution personnel is necessary for and effective operation of the overall CCWWC System.
· Other duties assigned by the General Manager and/or Distribution Operations Manager.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Experience with construction related activities, underground excavations, and safety related items when working in and around excavations and roadways.
· Experience with plumbing and pipefitting. Installation and repair of water piping (PVC and DIP, 6-inch to 24-inch).
· General ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
· Experience with SCADA systems, radio telemetry, and antennas.
Working Conditions:
· The majority of the work is performed outdoors within the distribution system, and most is done by one individual. Some uniforms are provided, examples are coat, coveralls, boots, shirts, and hats.
· All required safety gear is provided, examples are hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hats, climbing harness, reflective vests, etc.
Licenses and Certifications:
· Must possess a current and valid driver's license at all times. Must possess a Class B CDL within 1 year of hire. This position requires standby duty and comes with the ability to drive a company provided vehicle from work to home to respond to afterhours issues timely. CCWWC does have some vehicles that require a Class B CDL to drive.
· Must possess within 1 year of hire Distribution Certification through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

Cross training with other job functions at CCWWC will be part of the duties and expectations. In emergencies, labor shortages, or other times of need, you may be asked to cover Water Treatment Plant shifts or perform WTP maintenance activities.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
