What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Manager position at Clarendale of Chandler?
Essential Job Duties:
- Performs general housekeeping duties in apartments, such as vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms/kitchens and dusting of all cleared flat surfaces.
- Performs general housekeeping duties of hallways and common areas.
- Supervises the performance of all housekeeping/laundry personnel through personal inspections and other quality control techniques.
- Selects, trains, evaluates and disciplines all housekeeping/laundry personnel.
- Keeps required records, reports, studies.
- Conducts inventories of all housekeeping supplies, and places monthly orders for all housekeeping supplies.
- Inspects all housekeeping and laundry equipment regularly for proper functioning and safety.
- Coordinates the scheduling of all apartment cleaning and special cleaning projects.
- Coordinates apartment refurbishing with the Plant Services Director.
- Coordinates department functions with those of other departments.
Other Duties:
- Participates in the research and preparation of the department budget.
- Operates the Department within budget guidelines.
- Tests and evaluates new products to improve efficiency.
- Complies with all federal, state and local codes, laws and regulations governing the Community.
- Delegates authority to supervisory staff for task details to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and services.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of three years experience of prior housekeeping supervisory experience in a retirement community, hotel or health care setting preferred.
- Must have the ability to think analytically and make independent and accurate decisions in solving problems and improving services.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and infection control procedures required.
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills
