What are the responsibilities and job description for the PreK Paraeducator position at Clarendon Elementary School?
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to interact effectively, including written and verbal interactions, with students and co-workers.
Ability to take direction and feedback when provided, and to work independently when needed.
Ability to implement a variety of developmental, pre-academic and social/emotional/behavioral supports under the supervision/direction of licensed personnel.
Must possess an Associates’ Degree or the equivalent; or the ability to pass an academic competency assessment prior to beginning employment.
Must complete all state-mandated PreK trainings and obtain the training certifications required for employment within a licensed, school-based public PreK program.
Must pass all criminal record checks and ensure completion of fingerprinting requirements.
Ability to work the daily hours of 9:45-5:15.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct support to PreK students to meet their developmental, pre-academic, and social/emotional/behavioral needs under supervision/direction from licensed personnel.
Manage any and all social/emotional/behavioral challenges using positive and proactive approaches.
Complete state and district-mandated trainings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as directed by licensed personnel and/or Administration.
Assist with data-collection and record-keeping tasks as assigned by licensed personnel.
Provide high-quality childcare to PreK students during the hours of 3:00-5:15 each day.
Other responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to routine daily duties assigned by the Administration.
