The Lead Fulfillment Operations Technician plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Fulfillment Operations department under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This role is responsible for overseeing various areas, including Paxit and other automated dispensing systems, bulk order fulfillment, pre-packaging, non-sterile compounding, and staging/toting items for shipment. In addition to coordinating department schedules and workflows, the Lead Technician participates in staff coaching, training, and performance management, ensuring timely communication and escalation of any concerns.
Location: On site at our closed-door, Cheshire CT, pharmacy
Salary : starting at $21/hr (dependent upon experience and license type) $ 3 /hr shift differential
Schedule : Monday thru Friday – 6:00 pm -2:30 am (every 6th weekend 12:30 - 9:00 pm)
Reports to: Fulfillment Operations Supervisor or Manager

- Coordinate department schedules, monitor workflows, and adjust shift assignments as needed
- Participate in coaching, training, and development of team members to enhance performance and productivity
- Identify and communicate staff performance concerns or development opportunities to supervisors or managers
- Operate automated dispensing equipment, including Paxit packagers and non- Paxit systems, at established productivity levels
- Ensure proper inventory replenishment and supply management throughout the pharmacy
- Perform pre-packaging activities, including labeling, monitoring expiration dates, and maintaining pre-pack logs
- Handle bulk dispensing activities, such as labeling, processing third-party claims, and ensuring inventory accuracy
- Manage staging and toting processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation for order shipment
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies, including HIPAA and OSHA standards
- Report workflow backlogs, operational issues, and compliance concerns promptly to supervisors and other stakeholders
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced certifications in pharmacy operations preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy or fulfillment environment
- Demonstrated understanding of USP 795 standards and compounding procedures
- Proven ability to operate automated pharmacy equipment and software systems
- Strong knowledge of compliance regulations, including DEA, CMS, and state health agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and customer focus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines with accuracy
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and inventory management systems
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to address equipment faults and workflow issues
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compliance
