Job Description
The Special Education Teacher will be tasked with creating and executing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students in a self-contained classroom. We are looking for a candidate who can work closely with parents, caregivers, and staff to craft well-rounded educational strategies that support each student's unique challenges.
Daily tasks for this role include :
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
- Develop and modifying lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects as well as social and life skills.
- Manage classroom behavior and implementing positive behavior support strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to update them on student progress.
- Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records, and adjusting teaching methods as needed.
