The Special Education Teacher will support students with a wide range of learning, emotional, physical, and developmental needs.
In this role, you will design and implement personalized learning plans (IEPs), collaborate with school staff and families, and apply effective instructional methods to enhance students' academic and social development.
As a Specialized Learning Instructor, you will cultivate a structured and nurturing classroom that fosters student success. You will tailor instruction to meet individual needs, track progress, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Regular assessments will guide instructional decisions, ensuring students receive the support necessary to thrive. Additionally, you will provide emotional and social guidance to help students build confidence and independence. Close collaboration with general education teachers, specialists, and families will be key in creating an inclusive and supportive educational experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher.
- A bachelor's degree in Special Education is required; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Must hold a valid Michigan Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education (LBS1) endorsement.
