Special Education Teacher Responsibilities :

• Integrate technology into teaching methods.
• Administer assessments to track student progress.
• Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with therapists, educators, and families to support student success.
• Work with classroom teachers and specialists to enhance student achievement.
• Implement differentiated instruction and interventions based on student needs.
• Modify the general education curriculum to accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Serve as a liaison between the school and families, ensuring clear communication.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education (LBS1) endorsement. Experience working with children with diverse disabilities is essential, along with a proven background as a Special Education Teacher or in a related role. A bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required, while a master's degree is preferred.
