Were seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in an instructional classroom setting!
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will ensure that all students are provided with the resources and support necessary to thrive in a middle school setting meeting both their academic and socialemotional goals.
Primary Responsibilities Include :
- Track and evaluate students progress adapting instructional methods to address their unique learning needs.
- Adjust and customize the general education curriculum to suit the varying abilities and learning styles of students.
- Apply effective behavior management strategies that adhere to school guidelines and support individual behavior plans.
- Deliver focused instruction through small group sessions or oneonone teaching aligning lessons with specific student objectives.
- Design execute and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse requirements of students with special needs.
- Establish a wellorganized and supportive classroom setting that ensures safety fosters active learning and encourages student engagement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers support staff and school leadership to create a nurturing and inclusive educational environment that promotes both academic and social growth.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a valid Illinois certification in Special Education and demonstrate the ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners effectively. A bachelor s degree in Special Education or a related discipline is required with a master s degree being highly desirable. Applicants should have a strong understanding of developing implementing and ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as well as familiarity with state and federal regulations governing special education.
