Responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional include:
1. Facilitation: As a Direct Support Professional, your primary role will be to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in experiencing the wonders of Northern Colorado’s vast community. You will help plan and guide the groups day program services throughout the community, ensuring that each activity fosters a sense of adventure, personal growth, enjoyment and safety.
2. Building of social skills: You will assist individuals in developing and enhancing their social interactions, fostering connections with peers, community members, and their support networks. By creating opportunities for social engagement, you will help promote a sense of belonging and build lasting relationships.
3. Supporting positive behavior development: You will work closely with individuals to identify their strengths and areas for growth. Through positive reinforcement strategies and person-centered approaches, you will guide them in developing essential life skills, managing challenges, and achieving personal goals.
4. Encouraging community participation: Your role will involve facilitating the active involvement of individuals in community activities that align with their interests and passions. By advocating for inclusion and promoting access to resources, you will empower them to explore new experiences, explore new hobbies, and possible new employment opportunities.
5. Transportation: Safely and reliably provide transportation for Clarion Day’s clients to and from their residence so they can participate in our planned community activities, adhering to assigned schedules and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.

Pay: $18.25 - $20 per hour.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or certifications)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a passion for Colorado’s natural beauty.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Ability to embrace some physical demands. This position isn't your typical desk job! You'll be the hero who knows how to handle any situation, to calmly and professionally navigate unpredictable moments, with the ability to perform first aid you’ll be a rockstar in keeping the adventure going.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding and able to work alone in the community, calmly handling escalated behaviors or moments of crisis.
- Ability to adapt to varying needs and situations.

Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Motor Vehicle Record in good standing
- Criminal Background Check
- Reference check (Two letters of recommendation or reference checks)
- CAPS Check (Colorado Adult Protective Services screening)
