The ESG Senior Associate / Vice President will play a pivotal role in advancing the environmental sustainability agenda of a leading private equity commercial real estate firm. This individual will be responsible for the project and program management of technical sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and other environmental impact reduction projects. The role will also involve vetting and piloting emerging property technologies that align with the company's commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
Responsibilities
- Support Head of ESG in incorporating ESG initiatives and programs across the organization and work with various departments including acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management and others to develop ESG processes.
- Work with various consultants and vendors to manage ESG projects such as renewable energy, resource efficiency, and climate risk and resilience projects.
- Do research and stay up-to-date on ESG initiatives in the real estate industry, vendors, technologies and peers.
- Work with asset management and portfolio management teams to identify and implement ESG initiatives. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of sustainability-focused projects, working to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Develop and implement accretive and comprehensive sustainability programs across Clarion's property portfolio to enhance energy and water efficiency.
- Research, evaluate, and pilot new property technologies that align with Clarion's sustainability goals.
- Work closely with property management teams, asset managers, and external consultants to coordinate and drive sustainability projects.
- Track Building Performance Standards and other regulation related to property sustainability. Work with property and asset managers to implement projects to comply with relevant environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in real estate sustainability and incorporate this knowledge into strategic planning.
Qualifications
If based in New York, the base salary range for this position is USD $150,000 - $175,000. Actual base salary offered will be determined by several components including but not limited to the candidate's experience, job-related knowledge, and qualifications. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role. Total compensation may vary based on role, location, and individual performance. For roles located outside of Los Angeles, please disregard the posted salary range as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on the local market.
