What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Support Staff/Caregiver/Companion position at Clarity Care LLC?
Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Schedule: 4 evenings per week from 4pm-9pm and 4-5 hours on Saturday OR Sunday
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, household duties, companionship
- Promote independence and community integration for individuals
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals
- Document daily activities, progress, and incidents
Skills:
- Knowledge of individual rights and ability to advocate for individuals
- Understanding of social work principles and practices
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong caregiving skills, including empathy, patience, and compassion
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and implement behavior management techniques
