Pay: $15.00 - $25.00/hr (Based on Experience)

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Optometric Technician / Optician to join our team. Whether you have optical experience or come from a strong customer service, retail, or healthcare background, we are willing to train the right person to succeed in this role!

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):

Patient Interaction & Front Desk Duties:

  • Welcome patients with a warm and friendly attitude
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and check-in/check-out patients
  • Verify and interpret vision & medical insurance benefits (VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, Davis Vision, UHC, etc.)
  • Collect payments and submit vision insurance claims

Pre-Testing & Clinical Support:

  • Perform pre-testing procedures such as retinal imaging, visual acuity tests, tonometry, and auto-refraction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment

Optical Sales & Eyewear Styling:

  • Educate and assist patients in choosing stylish, high-quality frames based on their prescription and lifestyle
  • Explain lens options, coatings, and premium eyewear benefits from a medical perspective
  • Fit, adjust, and dispense glasses, ensuring comfort and clarity
  • Troubleshoot any patient concerns with eyewear or lenses

Practice Growth & Office Efficiency:

  • Contribute to a positive team culture and help promote the practice
  • Be flexible and adaptable to assist in a variety of office tasks that support practice growth

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications):

-High School Diploma or equivalent required
-Customer service, sales, or optical experience preferred
-Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills
-Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to multitask
-Passion for educating patients and selling premium eyewear solutions
-Experience with Revolution EHR and insurance portals is a plus
-Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
-Certified Paraoptometric or Optician credentials? Even better!
