Role
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is seeking to modernize software acquisition and development practices within the Department of Defense (DoD) by adopting industry best practices for rapidly deploying new applications. This includes creating a software engineering culture that unifies development (Dev), security (Sec), and operations (Ops) to automate, monitor, and apply cybersecurity to all phases of the software lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program. Serves as the main point of contact for the Government and Consortium Agreements Officers (AOs) and Program Managers (PM).
Requirements
- Educational
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Technical
- 5 years of experience in program or product management.
- TS with SCI eligibility is required.
- Hybrid role with on-site work in central Maryland and local travel to northern Virginia for meetings.
- Develop comprehensive program plans, objectives, and strategies in alignment with government regulations and organizational goals.
- Define program scope, deliverables, milestones, and timelines to ensure successful implementation and execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, stakeholders, partners, and vendors to facilitate collaboration and communication.
- Collaborate with talent acquisition to meet program staffing requirements.
- Support business development activities to ensure corporate metrics are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all program-related inquiries, requests, and updates.
- Direct and supervise program teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations, policies, and standards throughout the program lifecycle.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, status updates, and compliance documentation to government agencies and stakeholders as required.
- Establish quality assurance processes and standards to monitor program deliverables and outcomes.
- Understand agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle to effectively communicate, track, and monitor progress.
