Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, and management of ocular diseases. This role requires a strong understanding of optical systems and the ability to work with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. The Optometrist will also ensure compliance with medical records management and HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and provide recommendations for visual aids.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures.
- Provide pediatric eye care services, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health.
- Familiarity with optical systems and ophthalmology practices.
- Experience in managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
