Chief Financial Officer
Our client, a family operated distribution company is looking for a CFO. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and risk management. This role requires a seasoned financial leader who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and understands the unique dynamics of a family-owned business.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, general ledger (Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets), bank reconciliations, and tax returns.
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts receivables, accounts payables, and executive payroll.
- Responsible for company’s daily cash management and provided ownership with daily bank account balances.
- Manage and mentor the accounting/finance team of 9-10 direct reports including Accounting Manager, cashiers, and members of the AP and AR team
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing mentorship involving performance goals, conducting evaluations, and fostering a culture of improvement.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders including financial institutions, accounting firm, outside counsel, auditors, regulatory bodies, and other external partners to ensure compliance, and support the company’s financial health.
- Collaborate and supervise the fiscal year budget with the senior leadership and finance team.
Requirements:
- 20 years’ experience in financial accounting
- Experience managing a finance team
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required
- Hands-on, strategic, and operational mindset
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills
Office Environment: 5 days in office, Bronx, NY, Hours 6 am – 3 pm
Salary: 190-200K base, 40-50k bonus
