Our client, and LGBTQ nonprofit is seeking a reliable and professional Temp Part-Time Receptionist (ongoing) to join their team! As the first point of contact for visitors and staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional reception support, ensuring the safety of the space, and assisting with a variety of tasks to ensure smooth operations. Candidates MUST have de-escalation experience. This is an ongoing position with an immediate start.
Location: Chelsea, Manhattan
Hourly Rate: $25.65/hr
Schedule: Fully Onsite, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7:30am - 3:30pm (with potential for additional shifts based on need)
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors, answer inquiries in person, via phone, email, and online chat.
- Enforce the Code of Conduct by proactively engaging visitors and ensuring a safe environment.
- Monitor security cameras and communicate with team members when support is needed.
- Respond to requests for assistance from staff and visitors, providing helpful information.
- Refuse entry to prohibited individuals and conduct regular building tours to assess activity and safety.
- Report any unsafe conditions to leadership and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
- Prepare incident reports as needed and ensure proper documentation.
- Be familiar with the daily calendar of events, activities, and available resources to assist visitors.
- Perform building opening and closing procedures and manage access control.
- Enter data into space reservation systems and assist with other administrative tasks.
- Oversee the Cyber Center, handle payments, and troubleshoot issues as required.
- Maintain front desk supplies, including publications, bulletin boards, and literature racks.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to remain alert and monitor security conditions at all times.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role is preferred.
- Ability to perform data entry and handle basic administrative tasks.
- Must be available to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7:30am - 3:30pm.
