What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Counselor: I or II position at Clarity Wellness Community?
Clarity Wellness Community is a progressive not-for-profit organization providing mental health services in Allegany and Wyoming counties. Clarity’s mission is to empower people with care, connections and support for a lifetime of choice. We are currently seeking full-time Clinical Counselors to support children, adults or families on their path to wellness in our Wellsville, NY office.
Office based or telehealth opportunities are available.
Clinical counselors work in a dynamic and person-centered clinical setting providing a variety of counseling, rehabilitation and support services. A few of these responsibilities include:
- Completing initial assessments to determine medical necessity for treatment
- Conducting individual psychotherapy sessions or therapeutic groups
- Developing individualized treatment plans
- Providing crisis intervention services
- Communication and coordination with other service providers and natural community supports
Hours: Full-time 40 hours (Monday-Friday)
Clinical Counselor I:
Qualifications: Minimum of Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work or related counseling field that leads to licensure in NYS. Applicant may be a new graduate with a Master’s degree with understanding of mental health counseling. Must have a valid driver’s license. Use of personal vehicle may be necessary. Clinician must be license eligible in New York State.
Clinical Counselor II
Qualifications: Minimum of Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work or related counseling field with at least 3 years of experience in mental health or clinical setting. Must be licensed in New York State. Must have exposure to evidence-based practices through education, work experience and trainings. Preferred certification or extensive training in at least 1-3 evidenced based practices. Must have a valid driver’s license. Use of personal vehicle may be necessary. Clinician must be licensed in New York State.
