Position Summary:
Clark Bros., Inc. is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Assistant to support our executive leadership team. This position will play a key role in advancing our strategic growth efforts within the heavy civil construction industry. As a Business Development Assistant, you will work closely with the CEO to develop and execute business development strategies, manage behind-the-scenes operations, and support all related administrative functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a working knowledge of the construction industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the CEO in formulating and refining business development plans, targets, and strategies.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage the request for proposal (RFP) process.
- Maintain organized records of proposals, contracts, client communications, and CRM data.
- Track business development tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, and prepare agendas and minutes for business development-related discussions.
- Draft and send professional correspondence to clients, vendors, and potential partners on behalf of the CEO.
- Help maintain a positive and professional relationship with clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Identify potential clients, upcoming project opportunities, and industry events.
- Conduct initial calls to prospective clients to gather org details, identify decision-makers, and book meetings.
- Maintain and update lead tracking systems with potential business opportunities.
- Assist in the creation and editing of business development materials such as capability statements, brochures, presentations, and social media content (if applicable).
- Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all business development documents.
- Coordinate logistics and support the team in preparing for industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities the company may attend.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to meet business development goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive business information or executive communications.
Qualifications and Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years in business development or admin support roles.
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred; heavy civil construction experience is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with CRM software and proposal management tools.
- Capable of drafting professional documents, correspondence, and marketing materials.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong time management, ability to handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
