Position Summary:
The Electrical High Voltage Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates and proposals for renewable energy electrical (solar, wind, BESS) and high voltage projects (substations and transmission lines). The role requires expertise in electrical and high voltage estimation, with the ability to manage complex proposals with minimal supervision. The Estimator will also play a key role in planning, resource allocation, cost monitoring, and ensuring adherence to construction standards and project specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimate, prepare and assign resources such as manpower materials, consumables, equipment, tools, etc., required for all electrical and related works prior to execution.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor contacts and relationships.
- Plan and analyze all possible construction methodologies and recommend the best option to the Project Manager for approval prior to execution at site.
- Interpret construction drawings and study the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications prior to execution of any job.
- Coordinate with Client/Consultant’s representatives for any site instructions and inspection of works.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained to support estimate figures.
- Ensure that all work done is in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project speculations, and all applicable standards.
- Prepare budget for project by properly categorizing costs and monitor those costs throughout project life by comparing and adjusting estimating costs vs. actual costs (i.e., production rates, cost of materials, etc.).
Qualifications and Expectations:
- Degrees in Engineering, Construction Estimating or related fields are preferred, but will substitute degree for solid experience.
- Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of electrical and renewables estimation.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and estimating software and database programs.
- Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid estimating is preferred but not required.

Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
