Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time, permanent hourly Classified Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 2 – Art Model position to work approximately 17 hours a week. This position supports the Art department. The work schedule will vary based on the needs of the department and the work will all be done in person. Employee will receive assignments per the instructional needs of the Art Department Faculty. Assignments, both in person and remote, will be working at the direction of Faculty, posing as a human figure Model for Art classes. Employee will plan assignments ahead with Faculty and help coordinate the demonstration of the human form for the students. Employees may be asked by Students and Faculty for feedback during assignment sessions. A strong background in studio arts and critique is required.

Under direct supervision within the classroom/studio environment, model assumes and holds various poses or facial expressions for an extended period as directed by the instructor. Modeling is primarily nude for a specific length of time with periodic breaks, as directed by the class instructor. All body types and ages are encouraged (minimum age 18). Typically works on an intermittent, on-call basis.

  • Assume and hold various poses for specific lengths of time, as specifically directed by the class instructor.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
  • Prior experience as an Art Model for an instructional institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older. 
JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and pose for extended periods of time. 
  • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.  
  • This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association. 
  • Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted which includes a sexual misconduct background check as required under RCW 28B.112.080. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
SALARY RANGE: $21.90-$29.41/hour. | Step A-M | Range: 44 | Code: 255N
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
