Commerical Construction Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking a Commerical Construction Superintendent in Southeast Michigan and Central Michigan to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, implementation, and safety.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plan short-term (2 to 4 weeks) job site activity, having all players - trade contractors notably – well informed and fully committed to short-term construction plans.
• Produce three week look ahead and assist with the creation and upkeep of the project schedule.
• Lead contractors’ activities in an efficient manner and ensure they perform their work with the required resources according to most recent schedule.
• Expedite the project validation process and ensure that all documents that require third party approval (architect, structural engineer, local authorities, etc.) are prepared, gathered, reviewed, dispatched, and returned expeditiously so that the project moves along at the expected pace.
• Ensure job site safety, quality, environment protection, and cleanliness are adhered to and that safety, specified quality, environmental requirements, and plans and specifications are fully respected every day by all contractors.
• Ensure quality close-out with each contractor by making sure that jobs are closed out expeditiously by the various contractors, albeit in accordance with safety, quality and environmental, requirements.
• Document all happenings in a detailed daily report on a regular basis including site discussions, meetings, changes to the project, weather reports, delays, safety items, and trade contractor counts.
• Complete a trade hours worksheet at the beginning of a project and promptly turn in labor reports and updated trade hours tracking sheet at the first of each month.
• Conduct onsite progress and coordination meetings.
• Create and or maintain a good relationship with the owner.
• Commit to continuous improvement of self and company, enabling both to grow soundly, profitably, and professionally.
  
  

Requirements:

• Preferred - A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent.
• Preferred - a 4-year college degree, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering,
• A superior command of the commercial construction process,
• A high desire to be part of an inclusive and diverse work team,
• A proven record of safe, timely, and successful completion of projects,
• Outstanding planning and scheduling skills
• A high sensitivity to our client’s needs,
• A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all involved parties (Client, A/E, contractors, and team members),
• An exceptional understanding and implementation of risks and costs management,
• Proficient with Project Sight, Pheonix, as well as Textura, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Able to walk on uneven ground for prolonged periods of time.
• Be comfortable working in all elements outside.
