What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Safety Manager - Southeast Michigan position at Clark Construction Company?
Our Project Safety Manager maintains a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment supporting our trade contractors onsite daily.
Main responsibilities:

· Maintain an onsite “safety-first” culture, above and beyond compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
· Manage on site safety audits through EHS and inspections.
· Inspect company worksites to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and verify compliance with safety and risk management policies and procedures. Lead efforts to determine corrective or preventive measures and follow up to verify full implementation.
· Lead the investigation of accidents, injuries and near-misses. Assists in the preparation of material and/or reports for company’s use in hearings, OSHA/MIOSHA and insurance investigations.
· Maintain safety and risk management files and records.
· Track Trade Contractors’ safety performance and advise Operations in their selection for projects
· Lead the preparation and assist in the implementation of corporate and project-specific safety programs
· Review Trade Contractors’ safety documents to ensure compliance with the company’s policies, procedures and insurance requirements.
· Report to management on a periodic basis regarding the effectiveness of the company’s safety and risk management programs (vs. costs). Support tracking and reporting of annual safety budget.
- BS in Safety related curriculum preferred
- OSHA 500 in Construction Safety preferred
- Must be able to navigate job sites for inspection and perform normal duties including climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, exposure to the elements, and lifting of up to 75 lbs.
