Superintendent - Municipal Projects

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Superintendent to lead the successful execution of on-site work for our municipal infrastructure projects in Southeast Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, with a proven ability to manage complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Subcontractor Coordination: Provide field coordination and oversight, ensuring subcontractors adhere to plans and specifications.
• Project Planning: Establish field priorities, execution schedules, and work breakdown structures to meet project deliverables.
• Supervision: Provide day-to-day supervision and direction for subcontractors and vendors, coordinating craft activities.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality plans, and specifications. Review performance metrics and address deviations.
• Safety Oversight: Monitor daily site safety practices, enforce “Zero Accident” policies, and halt work in imminent danger situations.
• Documentation: Maintain records of quantities, change notices, daily progress reports, and quality inspection reports.
• Financial Auditing: Audit applications for payments and evaluate requests for scope, budget, or schedule changes.
• Stakeholder Communication: Participate in construction meetings, discussing progress, planned lookaheads, and status with owners and stakeholders.
• Material Management: Ensure receipt, inspection, and proper storage of equipment and materials, including preventative maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure construction.
• Strong comprehension of design drawings and technical specifications.
• BS degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university is a plus.
• High degree of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
