The Estimator helps grow Clark’s capabilities on both design-bid-build and design-build projects. This key member of our team will passionately help promote the development of creative, innovative solutions to construction challenges and enjoy the acquisition of winning profitable work.ResponsibilitiesMaintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the CompanyAnalyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projectsPerform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including scope determinations and accurate quantity surveySolicit Subcontractor and / or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope andLead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategyPerform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bidsAssist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirementsReview total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotationMonitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costsPreparing responses to Request for Qualifications (RFQ's) and Request for Proposals (RFP's).Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methodsExamine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditionsBasic QualificationsUndergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree preferred but not required3 years of related experience preferably as a commercial construction estimatorPassionate about profession, dedicated to winning work and willing to take pride and ownership of work productField experience is desirableDemonstrate the ability to either lead or be a part of a team for multiple projects and pursuitsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsWorking knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-taskMust be detail oriented, technically sound and have good communication skillsFamiliar with both conceptual and self-perform estimatingAlignment to Clark Standards of Excellence : Self-Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds Relationships, Builds People / Teams & Followership, Sets Direction & ExecutesClark CivilClark Civil performs heavy / civil work including airport, heavy rail, light rail, bridges, interstate road work, electrical substations, water and wastewater treatment, and facilities projects ranging from $10 million to $500 million.
