What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Clark County Fiscal Court?
A class of semi and skilled labor in the safe operation of various types of construction equipment. Also performs routine and repetitive manual labor. Personnel are under direct supervision of the County Road Supervisor or an appointed assistant.
Assists in the activities of the county road department maintenance division. Hauls gravel, sand, salt, repairs roads, mows rights-of-way, refuge removal, tree removal and other related duties as directed.
Must also have at least one (1) year of responsible experience in equipment operation. Must possess a valid Kentucky Driver’s License and may be required to obtain a Class B CDL endorsement.
To perform efficient operation of equipment which requires some manipulative difficulty. The ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. The ability to make sound judgement decisions. Must be physically able to lift heavy objects, stamina, coordination, alertness, agility, and the ability to withstand adverse weather conditions. Knowledge of County policies, construction requirements and County Road system. Must have pre-employment physical and drug screening.
