What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Highway Department position at Clark County Government?
The part time employee will report to the Clark County Highway Garage at 6103 Highway 403, Charlestown, IN 47111. The person filling this position will generally work no more than 29 1/2 hours per week. In a 2 week pay period, the total hours worked will not exceed 59 hours. The hours are generally 7 am - 3:30 pm for 3 days each week and up to a half day on a different day. The days will be determined by the supervisor and the employee but may vary depending on the needs of the department. This position will support the operations at the highway garage and will assist the full time staff by performing a variety of tasks including: using hand tools; spreading gravel, sand, top dirt, and salt; removing weeds, brush and storm-damaged trees from rights-of -way; picking up trash; assisting with flagging/traffic control at work sites and other duties as assigned.
