REPORTS TO: Director of Early Learning EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Assistant Director of Early Learning supports the daily operations of the district’s preschool, extended childcare programs (aftercare), and daycare. Ensures efficient program management, regulation compliance, and a safe, engaging environment for children. Responsibilities include staff supervision, program oversight, billing management, and family collaboration. Serves as the assistant to the Director of Early Learning.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Assists in overseeing daily operations of preschool, aftercare, and daycare programs.
- Assists supporting staff in instructional and childcare roles through coaching and professional development, ensuring compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations and maintaining accurate records.
- Assists in overseeing student supervision and safety procedures.
- Assists in monitoring staff and program effectiveness through observations and data analysis.
- Assists in managing billing tasks for aftercare, including CCAP billing, contracts, and collections.
- Collaborate with district leadership, administrators, and stakeholders to enhance program offerings.
- Assists in implementing activities promoting social-emotional learning, academic enrichment, and behavior management.
- Assists in ensuring smooth transitions between the school day and extended childcare programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ABILITY TO:
- Stand & move for extended periods; lift, push, pull, carry, etc. up to 25 lbs.; kneel, crouch, sit, etc.
- Use classroom technology, including computers, interactive whiteboards, audio-visual equipment, etc.
- Follow all board and school policies.
- Travel between school sites.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in education, early childhood education, or a related field.
- Valid principal certification.
- A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in education, with experience in early childhood or extended childcare programs, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development, childcare regulations, and best practices for extended learning programs.
Salary : $61,893 - $103,707
