County Highway Department - Class A or B Operator

Overview/Purpose of Position:
The Clark County Highway Department is accepting applications to fill a full-time Operator position. The selected candidate will be required to report to the Loyal location. The Operator position performs a variety of routine and relatively complex duties including truck driving, snow plowing, operating a variety of small tools, operating light and heavy equipment, operator level mechanical tasks, perform heavy manual work and traffic control flagging.
Requirements:
Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and be eligible to work in the United States. Minimal two years of experience working in construction, equipment operation or truck driving. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration. Applicant must be able to work overtime on short notice and be available for call-in work outside of normal work hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Applicant must have the ability to complete routine forms and apply concepts of basic mathematics. Applicant must be willing to perform manual labor tasks. Applicant must be able to interact positively with fellow employees and the public.
Special Requirement
Applicant is required to possess at a minimum a Class B Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License with Manual Transmission, Air Brake and Tanker Endorsements. Pre-employment drug screening and participation in drug testing program is required.
Benefits:
Starting wage for a Class A CDL is $25.58 per hour and starting wage for a Class B CDL is $23.76 per hour. Four day work week April through October. Overtime pay for all hours worked outside scheduled work day.
