Overview/Purpose of Position:
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications to fill one full-time position for a detective. This position enforces all Federal, State, and local laws regarding criminal and traffic incidents, and is primarily responsible for the investigation and management of crime scenes and for the preservation of public peace and protection of property. Some of the job duties with this position would be cell phone examinations, electronic forensics, warrant drafting and ICAC investigations.
Requirements:
Applicants must be 18 years of age, eligible to work in the US or a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license, be physically and mentally able to perform the essential functions of the job, and must not have any felony or domestic violence convictions. Applicants must also have good written and verbal communication skills, possess a high school diploma or GED certificate, have 60 college credits or Associate Degree, and have excellent moral character. The applicant must meet requirements established by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board and be a certified Officer in the State of Wisconsin.
Offer of employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of a physical and psychological examination as well as drug screening test.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: A person must have a minimum of five (5) years of full time law enforcement experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. The successful candidate may not have any felony or domestic violence convictions and will be required to successfully complete an extensive background investigation, including criminal history.
Benefits:
Starting wage is $38.35 per hour. This position qualifies for a full county benefit package including: health, dental, vision Wisconsin Retirement System with County match, disability, paid time off and paid holidays.
