About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple states. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is well-versed in pay adjustments, compliance, and multi-state payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple U.S. states.
Review and manage all pay adjustments including bonuses, retroactive pay, and other off-cycle changes.
Ensure payroll is compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and employee data.
Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate benefit deductions, tax withholdings, and year-end reporting.
Assist with audits and reporting requirements as needed.
Qualifications:
4 years of payroll experience, with a strong background in multi-state payroll processing.
Proficient in payroll systems.
Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations at the federal and state levels.
Experience handling various pay adjustments and payroll reconciliations.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
Experience working in a mid-to-large size organization with complex payroll needs.
