We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Bridge Engineer Technician to join our Michigan Construction Team. The selected candidate will provide construction inspection services (inspection and documentation) for MDOT, county, and municipal infrastructure projects around Michigan.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provides inspection and documentation services on civil construction projects (predominantly bridge, but also roadway and intersection improvements) throughout Michigan.
- Reads and interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts.
- Performs site data collection and verifies existing conditions.
- Familiarity with filling out the MDOT forms related to all phases of bridge construction.
- Completes daily work reports and forms related to current work operations.
- Collaborates with other construction and design staff to complete projects on budget.
- Works productively with all project stakeholders (contractor, owner, and residents) to resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Sampling, testing, density control, material certification, and reporting as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 15 years of experience of inspection experience on bridge/structure construction projects, preferably for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
- High School diploma or GED is required; A.S. degree in Construction Technology or a related field is preferred.
- Current MDOT certification for inspection is strongly desired. Testing certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel and Word) is required.
- Experience with AASHTOware, Fieldbook, Bluebeam, and ProjectWise is desired.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed daily logs and follow through on outstanding punch list items.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work productively with all project stakeholders.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to project sites as needed.
