We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Michigan and help lead the expansion of our municipal services practice. This is a key leadership position that offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, manage a variety of infrastructure projects, and play a pivotal role in business development across the state.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serves as a trusted advisor for municipal clients and provides guidance on project planning, development, and budgeting.
- Assists clients with identifying and applying for funding and obtaining necessary permits at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Teams with marketing and MI leadership to identify opportunities with prospects and existing clients to pursue civil/environmental engineering projects in the MI region.
- Collaborates with technical staff throughout the company to provide a wide range of services and solutions to public sector clients in MI.
- Develops project approach, schedule, and budget; negotiates scope and fee and any contract amendments with client.
- Develops high level design criteria and project work plan (PWP) for engineering projects.
- Leads the project team and coordinates/manages tasks with other engineers, designers, and construction staff.
- Conducts project team coordination meetings and serves as the point of contact for the client on all project-related matters; ensures QA/AC processes are implemented.
- Accountable for project performance and project deliverables; manages scope creep and takes corrective action as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and MI PE license are required.
- 15 years of broad-based experience as a civil engineer with a focus on selling and managing municipal engineering projects.
- Experience working with municipal government and serving in an advisory role for capital budgeting, project development, and deliverables.
- Technical experience with the planning, design and construction of local roads, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage projects.
- Experience with project management functions including project scoping, schedule, budget development and QA/QC.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop client relationships, market new business, make public presentations and write technical reports.
- Knowledgeable with civil/environmental design and modeling tools including one or more of the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Arc GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, XP-SWMM.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client and project sites as needed.
