We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Northern IL Construction Team . The selected candidate will provide construction phase engineering services to support civil infrastructure projects for the IL Tollway, IDOT, county and municipal clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Functions as a lead inspector, resident or assistant resident engineer, documentation technician, and materials coordinator for large, complex civil engineering projects.
- Interprets construction plans and documents, verifies quantities, measurements, and layouts.
- Maintains project documentation and daily reports of construction site activity and assists with project closeout.
- Works with the contractor and owner to address unexpected conditions and collaborates with the RE to develop alternative solutions.
- Prepares reports, plans, specifications, supporting documents, permit applications and RFI submittals.
- Works collaboratively with all project stakeholders (client, contractor, sub-consultants) and interacts with the public and officials to respond to inquiries and resolve problems.
- Provides guidance to less experienced staff on-site and ensures safety protocols are followed.
