We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join our Transportation Team based in our Champaign, IL office. Responsibilities include creating technical drawings for transportation projects for a variety of state and local agencies in Illinois.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of civil engineers to create drawings and models following the company’s design standards and utilizing the designated Open Roads Designer (ORD), MicroStation/Geopak, ArcGIS or other designated software.
Collaborates with engineers and designers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings
Prepares drawings for markup and comments
Assists with the preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and supporting documents.
Position Requirements:
A.S. degree in Construction Technology or equivalent experience and the ability to read and understand design plans and specifications is required.
Ability to create detailed designs using Open Roads Designer (ORD), MicroStation/Geopak, and ArcGIS
Ability to use MS Office tools (Excel, Word and Outlook).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with other employees to complete projects on-time and within budget.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites and work extended hours are required.
