We have a summer 2025 internship opportunity with our Lansing, MI Transportation Team . The selected candidate will be part of a team providing design services on transportation projects. Duties will include but are not limited to, assisting with design, plan development, and specifications related to traffic improvement projects. Our traffic projects including maintaining traffic, construction staging, detours, pavement markings, signing, signals, plan development, quantity calculations, etc.
Position Requirements
- Students with a declared major in Civil Engineering and an interest in Construction Inspection / Testing are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents and research specifications and codes as needed.
- Ability to perform basic calculations to compute quantities, verify measurements, and organize and analyze data.
- Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks with guidance from other staff.
- Good communication and listening skills with the ability to ask insightful questions and learn and apply new skills.
- Previous experience using CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, ORD or MicroStation) is desirable.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel & Word) is required.
