Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This position requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, as well as the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including trucks and trailers. Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and vehicle operation when needed.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
- Hazmat endorsement, or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days.
- Strong understanding of load securing techniques and safety protocols for transporting goods.
- Ability to pass background checks and adhere to company policies regarding safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
