Lead Cook

ClarkLindsey, East Central Illinois’s award-winning retirement community, seeks the skills of a Lead Cook to prepare meals for older adults living at ClarkLindsey.

The ideal candidate for Lead Cook is a structured, disciplined, and skillful individual who approaches and completes work with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Banquet experience or a culinary degree are preferred for this key position.

This is a full-time position. Shifts require every-other weekend work.

Lead preparation for scratch entrees, soups and deserts from scratch, as well as prepping and stocking the kitchen. Job Requirements

• Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, all team members must receive the annual influenza vaccine (exemption requests will be reviewed). We also encourage team members to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine.
• Previous fine-dining or banquet training is preferred.
• Must be able to make simple mathematical conversion for recipe conversion and production planning.
• Must be able to push, pull, and or lift a minimum of 40 points to a minimum height of 6 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and or carry such weight a minimum distance of 30 feet.
• Must possess sight/hearing so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Must be able to function independently.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language.
• Must abide by ClarkLindsey’s HIPAA privacy and security rules as described in the Employee handbook.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public.
• Serv-Safe required
