- Operate mammographic radiographic equipment and related devices.
- Position patients for accurate imaging and apply immobilization techniques when necessary.
- Calculate exposure factors and assist physicians during procedures.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure imaging accuracy.
- Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality, capturing additional images if needed.
- Set up and prepare medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Maintain accurate procedure and supply charges.
- Train and orient new mammographers and support student education.
- Keep up with MQSA training and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform phantom image quality evaluations regularly.
- Maintain good standing with A.A.R.T. credentials.
- Must be a Registered Mammography Technician.
- 1 year of X-ray technician experience required.
- ARRT or AMA Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Graduate of an approved X-ray technician training program.
- CPR certification required.
