Floor Technician– Overnights

TITLE: Floor Technician

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

DEPARTMENT: Commercial Operations

This position is for immediate hire for a project in Norfolk Virginia that will last 2 to 4 weeks. Employees to perform well will stay on after the project.

Job duties include the following:

Performs a variety of tasks relating to hard floor care and carpet cleaning in assigned commercial areas which may include entrances, reception, corridors, conference rooms, classrooms, workspaces, break rooms, and restrooms. Performs all work in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Work assignments will vary according to site responsibilities, outages in service, experience, and ability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

1. Receives and understands instructions of hard floor care and carpet cleaning requirements of assigned areas.

2. Receives instructions on schedule and timeframes for cleaning hard floors and specified carpet.

3. Uses a variety of cleaning equipment as well as working with harsh chemicals.

4. Depending on assignment may do any or all of the above on a daily, weekly or periodic basis.

5. Learn new carpet cleaning and hard floor care techniques as needed.

6. Performs all work safely in accordance with OSHA and Company requirements.

7. Maintains awareness of where all product SDSs are located.

8. Wears personal protective equipment as required.

9. Respond positively and promptly to site work orders.

10. Conduct all work in accordance with company procedures, including safety, door lock, time & attendance, and uniform policies.

Job Description:

Works inside commercial office buildings, medical and dental facilities, and various learning institutions most of the time.

Position requires physical strength and dexterity to operate necessary equipment and perform required floor technician duties.

Normal visual and hearing abilities required. Frequent bending and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular, recurring basis.

REQUIRED to work overnights from 6PM until 6AM.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional floor care experience.
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills during the hiring process.
• Honesty is critical—misrepresenting your experience may result in demotion or termination.
• Must have ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Must care about quality.
• Must be detailed oriented and work at an efficient pace.
• Must be reliable.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Physically able to be on your feet during an entire shift; walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching.
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must have reliable transportation (Personal vehicle).
• Able to begin ASAP.
