PT Evening Site Supervisor (Commercial Cleaning)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Location: Norfolk, VA
Job Environment: Learning/educational institution in the Norfolk area.
Hours: 15-25/weekly (opportunities for more hours available) Done before 11 PM!
The site supervisor is responsible for overseeing cleaning operations at commercial site (learning institution) in Norfolk, Virginia, ensuring that all work is completed according to company and client standards. This role involves supervising and managing cleaning technicians, conducting quality checks, and performing hands-on cleaning tasks where needed. The site supervisor also utilizes Sweep software to track and manage checklists and time cards, ensuring accurate reporting and streamlined operations. This position requires effective leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
Essential Functions:
1. Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead and guide a team of cleaning technicians, providing training, feedback, and support to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to company standards.
- Conduct a nightly routine walk-through of site to ensure cleaning tasks are performed correctly and meet client expectations.
- Assign specific cleaning duties to technicians based on site needs, staff experience, and job requirements.
2. Cleaning Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee daily cleaning of assigned areas, including offices, conference rooms, break rooms, restrooms, and other high-traffic spaces.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies, such as vacuums, mops, microfiber cloths, and cleaning solutions, to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring all surfaces, sinks, toilets, and urinals are properly cleaned and replenishing supplies (soap, paper products, etc.).
- Dust and clean office furniture, light fixtures, window sills, blinds, and air vents.
- Spot clean windows, glass doors, and other high-use areas.
- Ensure all trash cans are emptied, liners replaced, and trash areas are free of debris.
3. Quality Control & Reporting:
- Perform quality checks on cleaning tasks and provide feedback or retraining to technicians when necessary.
- Use Sweep software to complete and track checklists, time cards, and job assignments to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Submit detailed reports through Sweep to the Director of Operations, including any issues, feedback, or incidents requiring attention.
4. Inventory & Supplies Management:
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supply inventory for site.
- Submit supply orders to the Director of Operations as needed to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
5. Facility Security & Safety:
- Open and close facility, ensuring all security protocols and safety standards are followed.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Oversee the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by cleaning staff.
6. Other Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to site work orders and prioritize tasks based on urgency and client needs.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training of new cleaning technicians as necessary.
- Attend weekly/monthly staff meetings to report progress, updates of site and receive necessary company updates.
Qualifications:
- The job requires frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, and moving cleaning equipment.
- Must be comfortable working in various environmental conditions and be able to handle physical tasks.
- Previous supervisory experience in cleaning or related field- minimum 1 year.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple sites and staff effectively.
- Proficiency in using software tools, including Sweep, Slack, for tracking checklists, time cards, and job reporting.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
- 1 Year Commercial Cleaning experience is preferred.
- 1 Year Customer Service experience preferred but not required.
