How you’ll contribute
As a Rad Tech, you’ll make an impact by interacting with patients of all ages using a variety of imaging modalities, explaining methods of procedure and ensuring patient comfort. You can also expect to:
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:
- Kentucky State Radiation Operators License or Temporary Kentucky State Radiation Operators License within 6 months of hire
- One or more years of experience preferred
- ARRT certification within one year of hire
Department/Unit Summary
The Imaging Center offers digital technology including 3D digital mammography, computer-aided detection, stereotactic breast biopsies, ultrasound and bone-density testing. The Imaging Center features same-day test results for diagnostic imaging and, if needed, additional testing during the same visit. Patients also have the option to have same day breast biopsy if indicated, which helps alleviate the stress and worry of waiting for additional testing.
